Ariel Atom is a high performance car manufacturer that creates a limited number of vehicles that are as powerful as they are distinctive. One of the British company’s five models is the Ariel Atom 3.5 – released in late 2012, it has recently been upgraded, with the new version being called the 3.5R.

The new model features the same supercharged Honda engine, but with a new charge cooler and more boost, bumping the total output up by 40 hp to 350 hp. Another addition is that of Öhlins TTX dampers, which have replaced the previous reservoir dampers, something the manufacturer says will improve ride quality and handling.

Other improvements include a Sadev six-speed gearbox (similar to the one used on the Atom V8), which is controlled by a Geartronic controller, while for a better grip, high-performance Kumho tires have also been added.

While Ariel Atom is still working on the 3.5R’s livery and look, the company is already taking orders for the model, with deliveries expected to arrive in the middle of summer.
