Having been acquired by the Franck Muller Group around 5 years ago, the former company of Martin Braun, had more than 30 years of expertise in the world of luxury timekeeping. Martin Braun moved on from his first firm and founded in 2011 another watchmaking brand called Antoine Martin.

For the entire time that followed the acquiring transaction, Braun has been considered a high ranked individual because of his absolutely unique designs. The downside came when Braun ceased his relations with Muller Group because of some reported misunderstandings, having to go out and start on his own. His brand name and a plethora of assets have unfortunately been left behind.

He has recently presented tow models – a tourbillon perpetual calendar and a regular perpetual calendar. The Perpetual Calendar is as staggering in looks as it is mechanically intricate – it boasts with a modern design, a case which comprises a total of 84 parts, embossed elements, guilloche and weekday and month displays of vertical alignments. Furthermore, Braun has penned down his own caliber, the AM 39,001.

One of the most staggering parts of the movement is the absolutely huge. 17.5 millimeters balance wheel. It works at 18,000 vibrations per hour. In addition, the timepiece sports a silicum escapement and the “Aerodynamic Amplitude Stabilization” – the mechanism sports a control cam guided by the power reserve display.

If the movement is entirely wound, the cam regularly moves to within 0.01 mm of the balance wheel. Depending on the case material, which can be a black DLC-coated stainless steel case, white gold or rose gold, the watches come with price tags in excess of $50,000.
