Seiko Credor Fugaku Tourbillon

Credor, Seiko’s high-end division, has released a breathtaking limited edition timepiece at Baselworld 2016, which shows off the very first tourbillon movement by Seiko.

With a new Caliber 6830 movement, based on the in-house Caliber 68, a manually wound movement assembled by Satoshi Hiraga, the Credor Fugaku Tourbillon Limited Edition watch benefits from the amazing skills and attention to detail of three of Seiko’s Master Craftsmen.

Operating at 21,600vph and featuring a power reserve of 37 hours, Seiko seems ready to make a splash with this timepiece on this very volatile and exquisite market segment. The design of this watch is beyond stunning, with wonderful Hokusai-inspired engravings and a case back showing off Mt. Fuji engraved on the balance wheel bridge.

Credor Fugaku Tourbillon’s case is 43.1 mm wide and 8.8 mm thick, and comes in platinum 950, 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold, and sparkles with the aid of 48 sapphires.  The dial also benefits from 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold, plus urushi lacquer, mother of pearl and yakogai. I’m not sure who would put this to the test, but you should know that the Seiko Credor Fugaku Tourbillon Limited Edition case is water resistant to 30 meters.

Finally, the crocodile strap, with a Platinum 950 three-fold clasp and a push button release, will allow this jewel to adorn your wrist. Seiko will produce the Credor Fugauku Tourbillon in a limited run of just eight watches, each of them priced at a staggering ¥50,000,000 ($450,000).
