Boasting a charming retro vibe, the new Ballast Trafalgar BL-3133 timepiece also features a patented bezel control system and an interesting “bezel geared” mechanism, which was inspired from 21st century building techniques and innovation.

Although vintage-inspired, this watch looks relatively straightforward and familiar at a first glance, but its insides are much more complex than meets the eye, including robust wiring of mechanics and electronics, and numerous parts joined together to make things tick.

The Trafalgar BL-3133 is powered by a Miyota 8215 movement, a 21-jewel automatic caliber that beats at 21,600vph and offers a 50-hour power reserve. This entire mechanism is visible through the caseback, which also shows off the Ballast “B” logo on the underside of the lens.

Ballast’s newest creation comes with a chic 46 mm case which benefits from a canteen lock and was constructed from 10 separate pieces. The attention to detail is obvious wherever you look, while the plating combinations, featuring IP black, rose gold, and stainless steel work together with a classy leather strap to seduce anyone that comes even near to this watch.

By the way, the strap was hand-painted and tanned in Italy, which helps explain why this timepiece costs US$499., which makes the Ballast Trafalgar BL-3133 one of the most affordable timepieces we’ve featured on Luxatic.
