As if the Mulsanne wasn’t already stylish enough to stand out of any crowd, Bentley has just introduced the special Mulsanne First Edition at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. I guess this is a pretty good marketing move, but what else is there to talk about?
Well, the Bentley Mulsanne First Edition is based on the facelifted model of this luxurious car, but features a few interior embellishments; among those, you could mention the tailor-made Mulliner sterling silver vanity kit inlaid into the rear picnic table.
Designed by Asprey of London, this refined set is comprised of a vanity mirror, hair brush, and a comb – all stored in the aforementioned picnic table. Various “First Edition” accents have been added throughout the cabin as well, like the special tread plates, a diametric overlay on the rear seat picnic tables.
Bentley has also equipped its flagship model in First Edition guise with a special “Flying B” hood ornament, as well as a champagne cooler. Only 50 units of the Mulsanne “First Edition” are scheduled to be sold, across the three-model family: regular Mulsanne, the hotter Mulsanne Speed, and the ultra-luxurious Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase (EWB).
The Beijing Auto Show benefited from the EWB First Edition, showing off a ripple-patterned Fulbeck veneer from a 350-year-old English walnut tree – which doesn’t come cheap; other vehicles will feature an Antique Ash veneer. No matter the ‘flavor’, this Bentley is surely one desirable piece of automotive design.
