Located on the southernmost tip of the renowned Indonesian island Bali, the Ayana Resort and Spa beautifully resides among limestone cliffs, high above the Jimbaran Bay. A place of beauty, it lies pretty close to the Ngurah Rai International Airport, just a 15 minutes’ drive away, via car service, courtesy of the resort. Furthermore, there’s a shuttle bus that commutes between the resort and the tourist town of Kuta, three times a day.

Overall, what describes this resort best is tranquility and privacy. Built high above the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, the resort perfectly matches its meaning, in Sanskrit – “ayana” means “place of refuge”. Breathtaking panoramas can be viewed while dining, in an already superb atmosphere, high above the beach and water.

In fact, another perfect notion to depict this beauty is tradition. Canopy beds and Balinese woodwork make out a strong cultural setting. You can also be overwhelmed by the feeling that you’re the only person on this island. But it’s pretty far from the truth, the resort consisting of a staggering 368 suites, 78 of them being full beam villas.

Besides the accommodation facilities, the resort boasts with a huge spa that provides an 18-hole putting course and seawater jet pool, cafés, bars and all sorts of restaurants. Whether you feel like spending your day lounging at the private Kubu beach or want to enjoy a fine cocktail down to the Rock Bar, in a superb chill-out ambiance and sound, it’s only up to you.

The sunset may find you, beside your beloved, at the Pesta Lobster, enjoying a five-course dinner delivered to you at the end of a private pier. If we look at the pricing, all these may seem to be fantasy. Starting at $219 per night, or €172, a stay here could simply be a bargain. And, on our word, it’ll be worth it.
