Sunborn is a property development and investment company based in Finland that owns and operates hotels throughout Europe. One of their more remarkable ventures is Sunburn London, a luxury hotel in the form of a 394-foot superyacht moored permanently in the British capital’s Royal Victoria Dock.
Sunburn London offers tourists the opportunity to get most of the luxury yacht experience without spending a fortune on buying or renting such a boat. Nevertheless, the five-story, 138-room hotel offers top-notch facilities, including a spa, gourmet restaurant, terraces with views over the towers of Canary Wharf and a number of signature suites including two royal suites. These 210-square-foot suites will feature a bathroom with sauna, sunken Jacuzzi bath and generous lounge with a curved glazed wall that faces a spacious private terrace.
Prices for the royal suites have not been disclosed yet, however entry level rooms will be available from £180 (about $300) a night. Sunburn also plans to launch a similar superyacht hotel in Gibraltar at the same time as the one in London, with further plans to extend the concept to Barcelona in the future as well.
