Eccentric millionaire Christopher Mark started building this unusual home back in 2001, in Woodstock, Connecticut – a project which took seven years to complete. In this case, however, it seems that the story ended before “happily ever after”, since the fairy tale castle is now for sale.

Named Chrismark Castle, after its owner, the mansion is part of a 75-acre estate with its very own private 30-acre lake called Lake Porter. The eye-catching home has three levels and features impressive Gothic architecture. It is “defended” by stone walls, towers, and even a moat.

No expense was spared to make the castle luxurious and comfortable. There are 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a 1,200-square-foot kitchen, multiple massage rooms, and a library. The craftsmanship throughout the 22,377-square-foot home is superb.

Such a unique and opulent property certainly doesn’t come cheap. The asking price for Chrismark Castle is a staggering $45 million.
