The iconic Swiss watchmaker Zenith has released a new limited edition of the brand’s gorgeous El Primero chronograph, specifically designed to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of a Cuban Legend: Cohiba, the best Habanos brand in the world.

As you’d expect, only 50 watches will be available – in Rose Gold, that is – as well as 500 pieces in stainless steel, all of them being inspired by the beautiful world of the renowned cigar maker, with a lovely Havana brown dial and emblematic Cohiba motifs.

The unique craftsmanship of Zenith and Cohiba makes this limited edition timepieces an offering that delivers the best of both worlds. Founded back in 1966, and officially registered in 1969, Cohiba’s name is reminiscent of Taino Indians, who used the same name to describe the rolls of tobacco leaves.

If we were to talk technical specifications, we should mention the stainless steel or 18kt Rose Gold cases, measuring 42 mm, that are complemented by double AR-coated sapphire crystal. A sapphire case-back acts as a finishing touch, engraved with Cohiba’s 50th anniversary logo and enabling the watch to handle 30-meter deep waters.

The special Cohiba edition keeps in motion thanks to the Swiss automatic Zenith in-house caliber, El Primero 4061, with 31 jewels, 36,000 vph and a power reserve of 50 hours.

We should also tell you that the Havana brown dial honors the Cuban legacy with an aboriginal Taino chief motif, the cigar manufacture’s emblem, alongside the Zenith and Cohiba logos. Future owners of this beauty will show it off with the aid of a brown or black alligator leather strap, featuring a steel or 18kt Rose Gold buckle.
