As most of you have already found out by now, the imaginative and brilliant mind that was Zaha Hadid has left us suddenly and joined the rest of the legends up in the skies. Her legacy in unquestionable, with a unique way of bringing contemporary lines to conventional designs, that made her designs truly one of a kind, looking closer to art than architecture.
Completed just a few days before her demise, the gorgeous Mew Table is actually Zaha Hadid’s last project, a wonderful piece of furniture that was showcased at Milan Design Week 2016 by the Italian brand Sawaya & Moroni.
Zaha Hadid’s incredible project has been transformed into reality with the aid of a high-density high polyurethane structure. A single enveloping figure successfully expresses a fluid origami, with the table top looking like an aerial view of a river tributary.
You will probably notice Hadid’s unique sensual rhythm, with the Mew Table featuring a vivid red, black or blue coloring. This isn’t a matter of taste, it’s a matter of history and landmarks. Owning Zaha Hadid’s last design is arguably an accomplishment in itself.
