The Swiss Alps have plenty of beautiful high-end resorts scattered among them. Those who want to enjoy the scenery, but also want to be as close to it as possible, can opt for a stay in a Whitepod – an igloo-like structure which is both very comfortable and luxuriously appointed.

Whitepod offers the eco-luxury hotel experience, with accommodations consisting of 15 cozy domes strewn across the landscape. This includes 5 larger units for families or groups and 10 standard pods for couples who will certainly appreciate the extra privacy. Amenities inside include a king-sized bed, cowhide throws, iPods loaded with music, full bathroom with shower, and even a wood burning stove, while outside there’s a wooden deck from where guests can enjoy the amazing mountain views.

While the pods are indeed quite secluded, they can be reached with relative ease using skis or snowshoes. The resort also operates its own ski slopes, with 7 km available exclusively to Whitepod guests. In addition to the usual winter sports equipment, there are now six “snowscoots” (a mix between a bike and a snowboard) also part of the deal.
