Ever wondered how it would feel like taking a dip and at the same time relaxing in the privacy of your home? Of course you did, you’ve most probably even experienced the feeling for a number of times. I did as well. But Splinter Works comes with a different approach to the theme, presenting the Vessel – a wall-suspended bathtub shaped like a hammock. Wow!

This rather fantastic fixture further emphasizes your relaxing experience in the bathtub, designed to be mounted inside the wet room. Sturdily fixed with stainless steel brackets, which can either be revealed or covered, the Vessel is filled by a floor standing tap, while the waste water goes down the drain on the floor. In case a wet room setting is not your most immediate possibility, a down-pipe drain can also be fitted under the tub.

Due to its lightweight and strength, the material chosen for the tub was of course carbon fiber. One of the reasons was also that it can be shaped in practically every way imaginable. Mind you, it even looks like a hammock, as the fibers of the material seem to form a nice woven pattern. Under the complex layers of carbon fiber the manufacturers have fitted a foam core which efficiently insulates the bathtub – due to this format, the water stays hot for a significantly longer period of time.

Measuring 2.7 meters in length, the Vessel is quite a lot longer than your regular bathtub. Able to accommodate people of many sizes, literally, it provides a very relaxing atmosphere on a cozy base. Custom sizes are also available, but it can as well be designed to be 20 cm shorter for better installation in tighter spots. In terms of looks, it is available for purchase in pure silver, bronze, red, yellow, pink or gorgeous blue.
