A few days ago, we’ve shown you a beautiful one-of-a-kind timepiece by Vacheron Constantic called L’empreinte Du Dragon. Now, it’s time for another unique creation by the prestigious Swiss watchmaker: the Maître Cabinotier Astronomica.
Many high-end brands (most notably carmakers) have special divisions dedicated to creating special products for valued clients who are willing to pay anything it takes in order to get something truly exceptional. Vacheron Constantin also has a similar “branch” – the Atelier Cabinotiers. While it’s not entirely certain the Maître Cabinotier Astronomica is the work of this particular division, the fact that it bears its name and it is a one-off creation, together with the sheer quality of the piece is certainly enough to make it very desirable regardless of provenance.
The watch comes with the extremely complex manual-wind caliber 2755-B1, boasting an amazing 839 parts and 15 complications. Among these are a minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar (date, day of the week, month, leap years), equation of time, power reserve, sunrise time, sunset time, sky chart, age and phase of moon, sidereal time, seasons, and zodiac signs. It is housed in a 47mm white gold case bearing the coveted Hallmark of Geneva.
Showcased at the Watches & Wonders exhibit in Hong Kong, the Vacheron Constantin Maître Cabinotier Astronomica watch has already been sold.
