The 2015 Red Dot Design Awards allowed us to praise the gorgeous MB&F HM6 timepiece once again, being the only mechanical watch to earn a coveted Red Dot: Best of the Best Award. To honor this special award, MB&F has decided to release a new, dreamy version of the HM6, dubbed as the MB&F HM6 RT.
This particular version of the intricate HM6 replaces the original titanium case with one in 18k red gold, with palladium in it to stabilize the copper, leading to a unique mix that’s called 5N+. This unique alloy makes the MB&F HM6 RT even more incredible than the original HM6, and its limited availability and staggering price will surely make your eyes pop.
Featuring 10 sapphire crystals all over the case and a unique “biomorphic” look, the MB&F HM6 is a futuristic creation that can easily be described as ahead of its time. The 475 part movement offers the time via separate “domed discs” for the hour and minutes, the watch also including a flying tourbillon, a titanium shield which can be opened and closed over the tourbillon, as well as a “turbine regulated” automatic winding system.
MB&F will produce a total of 100 MB&F HM6 watches, and you’ll have to pay up $230,000 to own one. Judging by the gallery below, I’m sure you agree it’s all worth it.
