Aston Martin has probably planned to impress us every single week this year, that’s why the renowned supercar maker has just designed and developed yet another special version of one of their supercars, this time honoring Britain’s aviation industry, more exactly the iconic Spitfire.
Called the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80, this amazing ride will be produced in a limited run of just 80 units, celebrating exactly 80 years since the Supermarine Spitfire took to the skies. And just like the single-seat fighter, this Aston Martin will be powered by a massive V12 engine, that’s capable of developing 565 hp and 457 lb-ft (620 N-m) of torque in our case, more than enough for such a stylish piece of automotive design.
This special edition has been actually commissioned by Aston Martin’s Cambridge dealer and this will be the only place from where you could get it, a dealership that was also home to another aviation-themed beauty, the special V8 Vantage S “Blades Edition”.
Since there were no technical upgrades in mind, Aston Martin Cambridge wanted various other refined touches, like satin carbon fiber appendages and a wide array of components which remind us of the Spitfire, like the exhaust tips and an aluminum bar inside the cabin, hand-built by the guys from Duxford’s Aircraft Restoration Company,
All 80 units will be finished in Duxford’s special green color, with yellow pinstripes scaring off all German vehicles on the road ahead. The luxurious cabin has also received Q by Aston Martin’s personal touch, as you could probably imagine, including specially embroidered logos on the headrests, and aviation-related design cues.
The special Aston Martin comes with a £180,000 ($239,634) price-tag, but if you’d also like some accessories inspired by the mighty Spitfire, you could always go for a special Spitfire 80 Irvin jacket and a flying helmet and goggles.
