One of the most beautiful collaborations we have recently seen is the one between Chopard, Disney and Harrods, which resulted in a collection of uniquely superb, almost magical items inspired from the Princesses of Disney.

Caroline Scheufele, the Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, has nicely described the partnership: “I have always loved the world of fantasy and honored the relationship that Chopard has with the film industry.”

She added later: “The world of Walt Disney has often been an inspiration for a variety of Chopard pieces and I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to design the famous Princesses’ pieces of jewelry. Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel….and all other ones have been a great source of inspiration for me, giving birth to this new elegant yet playful collection of Haute Joaillerie – a perfect expression of the Chopard aesthetic.”

Our attention was capture by four particular pieces which are entirely gorgeous and beautiful. Starting with Disney and Chopard’s Mulan brooch, it is a glimmering flower that incorporates the fighting spirit of Mulan. The brooch has been garnished like a bud, with its centre marked by a rubellite cabochon. The rubies encrusted on this piece are cut in ovals and squares, in addition to violet and pink spinels, pink oval tourmalines, pink pear shaped and round sapphires and round rubellites. The brooch also exudes an interesting feeling of delicacy and tenderness.

The second one to be mentioned is the Frog Princess influenced Tiana by Disney and Chopard. The story expressed by this piece is The Princess and the Frog as the jewel represents a reminiscent of the floating flowers which the Prince and Tiana floated upon while seeking an end to the spell.

The baby blue flowers are in fact made of briolette cut paraibas tourmalines, reminding of the powder blue gown worn by Tiana when she met the Prince. The same piece has been garnished with intricate branches decked with forest green emeralds and tsavorites, while the junctions include glimmering pearls.

The collection also includes a necklace which depicts the story of the Beauty and the Beast. this particular piece is said to exude the personality of Belle and was realized with great consideration to the yellow gown worn by the character.

This exquisite necklace has been crafted from white gold and was garnished with precious stones which were placed in a gradient arrangement, beginning with an electric blue 69 carat pear-shaped tanzanite alongside blue sapphires, going through violet and purple stones with marquise cut and oval amethysts, and ending with round white and pink diamonds, and heart shaped pink sapphires.. The stunning tones of magenta are provided by square, pear and round shaped rubellites alongside spinels, kunzites and morganites.

The fourth item we likes is a nice one, but we have a hinge it won’t look that good on a delicate finger as it envelops it entirely. The Disney & Chopard Snow White Ring is in fact an apple shaped ring in white and rose gold, with a tethered stem encrusted with rare round brown diamonds and a delicately manufactured leaf embellished with tsavorites.

The main figure, the apple, has been garnished with round-cut rubies which make it stand out, just like the one which had brought Snow White closer to her passing away in the famous story. The full collection will reportedly be exclusively showcased at Harrods until the end of 2012, within Harrods’ Fine Jewelry Room, the Chopard boutique.
