The superb retreat of Monteverdi is located in Italy, near Castiglioncello del Trinoro. Boasting with the design mark of Ilaria Miani, this rejuvenating corner of exquisiteness is surrounded by the breathtaking Tuscan countryside.
The interiors throughout this palatial beauty are essentially designed to remind of rustic lifestyle, in close combination with the contemporary means of luxury of today. The Monteverdi comprises exposed ceiling beams, raw stone walls, antique-like furnishing and state of the art commodities for the luxury of guests.
Rising above the village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro, in the heart of the idyllic Val d’Orcia region, this gorgeous construction was fully renovated and transformed into a truly rejuvenating getaway. The painstaking restoration process had reportedly begun back in 2004, with the acquisition of a singular building “in desperate need of attention”. A full resurrection of the nearby village had followed, which has culminated during the last summer with the inauguration of the Hotel at Monteverdi – a concoction of 3 exquisite villas, a farm-to-table driven informal Café, a superb program of cultural events and a newly-restored chapel dating back to the 12th century.
The Monteverdi was officially opened in August 2012 and comprises 7 bedrooms which provide ultimate levels of comfort and luxury, in addition to simply breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding hills and valleys. The bedrooms are adjoined by an outdoor swimming pool and flawless services in a cadre that I solemnly swear you’ll never forget. The interior design specialists and local stone masons and builders have reportedly made use of “indigenous materials and reclaimed wood” in order to provide as authentic an atmosphere as they could. Furthermore, the rooms were fitted with local woods, granite, famous Carrara marble and Tuscan flagstone, all in the vogue with the region. As we’ve heard, later this year the local restaurant will also be inaugurated.
