The 2016 Geneva Motor Show hosted a multitude of automotive companies from all over the world, each of them taking on electric propulsion one way or another. But it was a huge surprise to see Morgan, the independent British bespoke car manufacturer, showcase a wonderful three-wheeler which blends its unique design heritage with 21st century technologies.

The beautiful Morgan EV3 will be the first production electric vehicle to be built by the company, with British craftsmanship and the company’s unique take on car manufacturing and design.

Times are changing, and Morgan had to keep up with the pack if it plans on staying alive. The final design of the EV3 shows off a restyled body and interior, that just looks amazing from front to back.

Following their 1930s traditions, the ‘EV3’ is fully functional, with brass conductive cooling fins surrounding the batteries and an off-center tri-bar headlight. The fresh dashboard design includes a classic ‘magneto’ switch for drive selection, a digital screen, wood, brass and polished aluminum.

Weighing in at less than 500 kilograms, the all-electric three wheeler comes with a 20 KWh lithium battery and an impressive 242 km range. Encased within the tubular space frame made of carbon fiber panels, the water cooled 46kW motor drives the rear wheel.

The body benefits from a carbon bonnet, a protective cover, side pads and aluminum panels, all hand crafted over an ash wood frame. By the end of the year, these stylish electric Morgans will be delivered to the first buyers, just in time for the winter holidays.
