A first for IAG Yachts, they’ve recently unveiled a new, wonderful superyacht called Electra, their first 100ft yacht, a symbol of great craftsmanship, high performance and manly dedication. Realized in close collaboration by two fabled brands, the fabled Italian design and engineering studios YD&AS and R.E.D.S., plus the Hong Kong and Fort Lauderdale-based IAG shipyard’s technical office, this ship represents a mark of exquisiteness rarely noticed nowadays.
The yacht’s interiors have been taken care of by IAG’s own interior department, the result being represented by high end performance, stylish, contemporary design interiors, having combined comfort with top quality fabrics and materials. The exteriors on the other hand provide a rather sporty appearance, in perfect harmony with the superyacht’s top notch performance.
Sleek, playful lines and streamlined shapes are the perfect words to describe its shape, as the hull got covered with a clean, white paint. The boarding place, the aft deck, welcomes guests with the pleasurable experience that awaits them. Comfort, style, lavishness – these are simple words, compared to the immensity of their meaning here. With an al fresco dining table placed right in the middle and huge wooden chairs all around, big sofa and some incredibly beautiful views, the aft deck is quite a nice place to lounge at.
Heading deeper, the huge main saloon is divided into two separate areas. First of all – the aft area, where an exquisite, pleasurably fresh toned bar connects the exterior with the internal central lounging area, and a lounging area that includes a complete set of lavish sofas, shaping out the centre of the saloon. Imagine all these painted in a warm, natural color palette.
The result is expressed by complete comfort, elegant looks and luxury. The atmosphere, enhanced by the light wooden floors, light grey upholstery and dark walls and the black and red cushions on the sofas, appears to be staggeringly tranquil.
Second, the fore side of the saloon presents itself as a warm-toned dining room, perfect for providing a rather intimate setting. Similar to the aft area of the main saloon, dark padded leather walls, chocolate brown and golden honey tones, a light-source looking resembling a starry sky, a huge central dining table and big windows that provide impressive panoramas make out a classic spot where one can enjoy exquisite dining.
Throughout the interiors, eclectic styling, art deco and elegance are the best ways to describe the general style. Furthermore, there is the area below decks, which offers state of the art accommodation for up to eight guests, in 4 luxurious staterooms. The lower deck comprises the guest cabins, including the owner’s quarters – thus, the main deck boasts enough space for the dining areas and main saloon.
The staterooms on the other hand are divided into a fine VIP cabin, two cozy twins and a full beam owner’s cabin. All of them come with en-suite bathrooms, a whole load of intimacy and luxury. And, above all, the master stateroom sports a lavish, exquisite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and a cozy lounge area. The VIP room boasts with a light, creamy interior, all along the leather walls panels, almost resembling a tasty white chocolate.
Externally, there are plenty of areas to lounge, relaxation and entertainment. The fore side sports large sunpads, ideal for relaxing and sunbathing, with all-around breathtaking views. Aft, a lavish fly-bridge resides. In addition, the superyacht offers a fully equipped bar area, a U-shaped sofa and al fresco dining options. Furthermore, a tender can also be found aft.
The most interesting point of the Electra Superyacht is how it combines high performance with luxury, intimacy, warmness, exquisiteness and comfort. Add a decent portion of style and extraordinary design to these and what you get is an astounding piece of vessel.
