Everyone going to the seaside would like the idea that when they get out of the rooms they live in the first thing to do is to step right into the sea-water. And this hotel in Mauritius almost makes it a fact, some of the rooms being as close as 10 meters to the water. It’s called the Hotel 20°Sud and it contains a total of 28 rooms and 6 suites.

The amenities the rooms comprise are both state-of-the-art and luxurious; the furniture is crafted in a unique style, the beds are queen-sized, there’s also a safe, plasma TV, multimedia system with access to more than 160 movies, free Wi-Fi Internet and telephone for any business traveler.

A tea- and coffee-making machine as well as a mini-bar are included, while the “Beachfront” rooms, “Austral Suites” and the other suites are equipped with espresso machines. The bathrooms are built mainly from wood and come with old-school baths, two wash-basins and separate showers.

One more benefit of the suites is either an outdoor hot bathtub or a small private swimming pool. For those with empty bellies, the hotel provides three different restaurant locations, the most exquisite of them being M/S Lady Lisbeth, an old boat the hotel has renovated and now works as a coquette dining-spot.

With experience gained in a Swiss high-class restaurant as well as in the best hotels in Mauritius, the Mauritian chef, Manolito Grosset, guides everything in the kitchen. Fresh fish from around the Mascarene Islands is processed and cooked here, on spot, offering superb culinary experiences.
