Under the direction of Christopher Nolan, Batman has become one of the biggest franchises in movie history, enjoyed by millions of fans around the world. Now those fans will have the opportunity to see a version of Bruce Wayne’s hometown of Gotham brought to life as one of the world’s greatest resorts – the Studio City, in Macau.
Melco Crown Entertainment, the company behind the new casino, has recently released new details regarding their $3.2 billion Hollywood-inspired entertainment complex, which is expected to open in mid-2015. Guests will be able to take a ride on the 425-foot Goldeneye, Asia’s tallest Ferris wheel, or try out the Wonder Woman-themed go-karting facilities. In addition to this, Studio City will include 30,000 square foot “play center”, featuring lots of DC Comics and Warner Bros. themes and characters, but also over 30 dining establishments, a 5,000-seat stadium, and a high-end nightclub (part of the international Pacha franchise, headquartered in Ibiza).
Also part of the complex will be a couple of “towers” hosting 1,600 Art Deco guest rooms (Celebrity Tower and Star Tower), while the nearby Boulevard at Studio City shopping center will offer an impressive 300,000 square-feet of retail space.
To raise the profile of their new property even more, Melco Crown have turned to Hollywood icons Robert de Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Martin Scorsese, who star in a short promotional clip you can see below:
