The innovative Spyker C8 Preliator has officially made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, and it’s everything you’ve been expecting, and then some. Rising from its own ashes, the Dutch sportscar maker has came up with an incredible successor for the C8 Aileron, which shows off an evolutionary design, with NACA ducts hinting towards the aviation industry.
Spyker went for a clean look for this beauty, with the grille featuring a honeycomb mesh and the central pillar in the same vein as the 2013 B6 Venator concept. The company focused on aerodynamic efficiency, adding small winglets on the side skirts and front splitter, while t the rear, the C8 features CNC-machined stainless steel LED taillights.
Built around an all-aluminum space frame chassis, the C8 Preliator’s beating heart is an Audi-sourced supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engine. It develops 525 hp (386 kilowatts) and 443 pound-feet (600 Nm) of torque, and was mated to a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox – customers may also go for the ZF six-speed automatic transmission.
The end result is 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph (322 km/h). Riding on 19-inch Turbofan wheels, the Spyker C8 Preliator will safely stop to a halt thanks to the AP Racing brakes, with four-piston calipers, while carbon ceramic brakes will add to the costs.
Spyker will only build 50 units of this impressive supercar, at a pre-tax starting price of €324,900 for the manual model and from €330,990 if you love the automatic. With 16 body paints on offer, including the pictured Satin Jet Grey, we’re sure everyone will find their favorite flavor.
