There aren’t many hotels in the world which offer direct views of landmarks from the ancient world. Hotel Gladiatori Palazzo Manfredi is just such a place, a luxurious retreat from whose rooms guests can gaze directly upon the legendary arena where gladiators used to fight for glory and for the entertainment of Rome’s people.

Palazzo Manfredi itself is an enchanting historical building, built in the 17thy century as the villa of the Evangelisti family. Purchased in 2002 by Count Goffredo Manfredi, the building was subsequently converted into a 5-star hotel, featuring an excellent assortment of rooms and suites with such high-end amenities as marble floors, Tivoli audio systems, and LCD TVs, as well as a fantastic Michelin-starred restaurant. The America Bar, which opens onto the Palazzo Manfredi’s stunning terrace, provides the perfect setting for a light meal or a nice glass of wine, surrounded by the some of the Eternal City’s most memorable landmarks.
