Scooters are not exactly known for their power and performance. Quite the contrary, their appeal comes from the fact that they’re supposed smaller, safer and easier to operate than motorbikes. Hamburg-based company Scooter and Service has decided to do things a bit differently however and has released a modified vintage Vespa PS 240.
The 38 hp scooter features a remarkably lightweight, under 200-pound frame, as well as a straight-cut, 4-spee transmission. With 38 hp per wheel, this Vespa is much more powerful than the average scooter, even outperforming the Harley-Davidson Street 500 or Honda’s and Kawasaki’s new entry-level sport bikes. There are, of course, a lot of other custom parts, things like a new throttle system, bench tank, digital control center, highly flexible braided hoses, to name just a few.
