Qatar Airways is the World’s Best Airline in 2012

For the second time in a row, Qatar Airways were named the Best Airline of the World, at the fabled Skytrax 2012 World Airline Awards. The event was part of the Farnborough International Airshow that took place in the vicinity of London, and has featured additional distinctive nominations, like awards for the best lounges, the best check-ins etc.

Qatar Airways have received the World’s Best Airline in 2011 on the occasion of the Paris Air Show, while this year the capital of Great Britain was chosen to host the event – looks like big cities bring high amounts of luck to the famous Airline. At a pragmatic approach, the Qatar Airways have been awarded the prizes thanks to the extensive effort they put in ensuring their customers with the best in business, and, above all, safety.

Based in Dohai, the renowned brand was also named the best regional airline in the Middle East some time ago, and has scored high marks in classifications like the World’s Best First Class Airline Lounges, World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering and the World’s Best Business Class Airline Seat.

There’s a load of tradition behind Skytrax Awards, their extensive research in checking out each airline corporation in the world being characterized with patience, commitment, transparence and, above all, experience.

The process of evaluation takes a painstaking ten months. They’ve measured the passengers’ level of satisfaction through intensive surveys of the travelers across every one of the cabin classes. Additional surveys are being carried out by telephones, among 18 million airline customers from over 100 countries, including 38 performance indicators like onboard seat comfort, in-flight entertainment and staff service, check-in, boarding and many more. Their devoted survey covered in excess of 200 different airlines this year, from domestic planes to international jets.
