This is the fifth time Piaget decides to bring up a one off timepiece for the Only Watch charity event. The Piaget Altiplano Skeleton watch comes to welcome the 2013 edition.

Fitted with an extremely elegant 38 mm white gold case treated with black PVD, this is in fact the first Piaget timepiece ever to encompass the Altiplano Skeleton white gold case treated in black PVD. The thickness is simply wonderful as well – just 5.34 mm of exquisitely manufactured watch. The thinnest automatic openworked watch ever made, the Piaget Altiplano Skeleton hides an ultra-thin caliber, the world’s thinnest automatic openworked skeleton caliber – the 2.4 mm thin 1200S.

As for the black dauphine-design hands, they are equally fantastic! They just add to the exquisite black screws on the bridges and the blackened platinum oscillating weight to create a fabulous game of contrasts, in tone with the sunburst satin-finished plate and bridges. The case was engraved with the mark “Only Watch 2013 – unique piece” while the overall finish is strictly tied to the quality of the skeleton movement itself, featuring hand-drawn, hand-bevelled bridges and plate, circular and sunburst satin-brushed wheels, polished-head screws, bevelled slots, black screws on the bridges and plates, the Piaget P mounted on the regulator assembly at 6 o’clock and a black PVD-finished buckle on the strap.

In terms of pricing, the white gold Piaget Altiplano Skeleton ultra-thin timepiece requires $60,000 just to be manufactured. Imagine the selling price would reach far beyond the 100k mark, with all proceeds guaranteed for charity.
