Dubai is fast on its way to becoming one of the most impressive cities in the world (if it isn’t there already!) and no project seems to be too outlandish. The latest development seems to be an amazing underwater theme park based on (what else?) the Lost City of Atlantis.
The Pearl of Dubai, as the venue is called, will be designed the same people who are responsible for the sets of such hugely popular blockbusters as “Avatar” and “the Pirates of the Caribbean”, so you know it’s going to be a stunning sight. Developed on a massive scale, the park is set to be the largest sustainable underwater tourism site in the world, stretching across five acres off the coast of Dubai.
Los Angeles-based underwater developer Reef Worlds will actually build the artificial reef in the shallow waters of the World islands, an artificial archipelago resembling a map of the world.
While no official opening date for the Pearl of Dubai has been announced as of yet, if some other of the city’s projects are anything to go by, the theme park will be done in no time – and it will be awesome.
