Parmigiani Fleurier Pershing Samba Madeira Watch
The latest addition from Parmigiani Fleurier to the Pershing collection celebrates Brazil and its Samba rhythm and it’s called the Pershing Samba Madeira. The colorful dial of this unique watch is handcrafted using marquetry, the ancient decorative technique where elaborate patterns are formed by inserting thin pieces of material such as wood, feathers and ivory into a wood or in this case metal veneer.
The dial of the Pershing Samba Madeira is a close up of a guitar, with six guitar strings created with wood pieces as thin as a single strand of hair. The sound hole of the guitar matches exactly the dimensions of the tourbillon cage. When the tourbillon oscillates, it brings the guitar to life as if it’s playing music.
The titanium case features an 18K rose gold bezel and indices, housing a hand-crafted dial with marquetry. The wooden fresco is incredibly detailed, with guitar strings as fine as a single strand of hair. Behind the guitar are inscribed the words “Ordem e Progresso”, the national motto of Brazil.
The Pershing Samba Madeira also features the green, yellow, and dark blue of the Brazilian flag. At its heart is the calibre PF510, a 237 component-movement hand-finished with fine bevelling and Côtes de Genève decorations adorning the bridges. The Pershing Samba Madeira boasts a 192-hour power reserve. This unique model is completed by an Hermes leather strap, and comes in a presentation case which has been hand-painted with the colors of the Brazilian flag.
