Founded back in 1988 by Dutch entrepreneur Peter Stas and his beloved wife Aletta Bax, Frédérique Constant is a relatively new Swiss watchmaker, but it quickly became one of the world’s most interesting brands to follow.
From the very beginning, the family-owned firm has focused on producing high quality mechanical wristwatches, made in Switzerland, with a traditional style and an affordable price point, but the best thing is that this Swiss watchmaker is involved in all stages of watch production, from the initial design to the final assembly of their exquisite timepieces.
Even the calibers are developed in-house by Frédérique Constant, and ever since 2004 the company has actually developed 19 different calibers, each of them interesting in its own way.
The same year, 2004, saw Frédérique Constant starting to support many noble causes, the brand donating $50 for every single watch sold from its Ladies Collection, to various charities related to the heart, children and women, like the International Children Heart’s Foundation, Global Gift Gala, or Variety’s ‘Power of Women’, just to name a few.
The Swiss watchmaker has been deeply involved in charity ever since, and just a couple of weeks ago they’ve named the beautiful, Oscar-winning actress and philanthropist Gwyneth Paltrow as the brand’s new global Charity Ambassador, supporting together the educational projects of the DonorsChoose organization, which helps classrooms and children in need.

Through DonorsChoose.org, more than 2 million people have already donated almost $400 million, helping students from low-income communities and disaster-stricken areas with books, school and art supplies, technology, field trips and many other resources that could help them learn without any problems. That’s why this particular cause, supported by Frédérique Constant and Gwyneth Paltrow, is so important.
