Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Carroll Shelby’s remarkable win at the FIA International Championship, Baume & Mercier has released two gorgeous limited edition watches, inspired from the world of racing and dubbed as the Capeland Shelby Cobra.

This limited edition include 1,965 pieces in steel and 98 luxurious pieces finished in 18kt red gold, each of them with an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back and featuring Carroll Shelby’s signature engraved on their caseback. The steel and gold versions will be a little different though, featuring slightly different movements and straps.

The steel version will be powered by a Swiss automatic La Joux-Perret caliber 8120 movement, with 25 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. It will have a rotor with Côtes de Genève, a lovely circular-grained bridge finishing, a snailed decor and it will feature the Phi symbol.

The gold version will have a Swiss automatic La Joux-Perret caliber 8147-2 movement, with 27 jewels and a power reserve of 44 hours. It will have the same open worked rotor with Côtes de Genève, snailed decor and Phi symbol and it will also come with a flyback complication.

The dial of both watches will be finished in the wonderful Shelby Cobra Guardsman Blue racing color, featuring two vertical stripes, ringed counters with Arabic numerals, with the hands in the shape of the cobra and also with SuperLuminova on the hands and indices.

The straps will be a little different, with the steel version getting a black alligator strap with red calfskin lining with grey stitching and a steel clasp and the gold version featuring a black alligator strap with blue alligator round scale lining, red stitching and a stunning 18kt gold buckle.

The Baume & Mercier Capeland Shelby Cobra will go on sale this June and will be priced at $4,450 for the steel version and $19,950 for the lavish gold version. Future buyers of the gold version will also get a bonus driving experience at the Spring Mountain Race Track in Las Vegas.
