The world’s smartphone market is huge and still growing, however it is still dominated by two giants: Apple and Samsung. Even if no-one seems close to being able to muscle in between the pair that dominates the market, other companies are always coming up with interesting new devices that steal the spotlight for a while (looking at you, HTC One). Korean electronics manufacturer LG has recently unveiled their bid for a piece of the high-end smartphone market with the new G3.
An Android device marketed under the slogan Simple is the New Smart, the G3 boasts a massive 5.5-inch Quad HD display, with an incredible pixel density of 538ppi, way more than any of its competitors. Whether the average can even distinguish the difference is debatable, however the technical achievement remains impressive.
The G3 runs an Android 4.4.2. KitKat operating system and also includes a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, up to 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It also features a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, as well as a laser autofocus system, something never before seen on a smartphone.
Initially released in South Korea, LG’s G3 martphone will also arrive in the West in the following weeks, when pricing details will be announced.
