The Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has finally unveiled Gallardo’s successor, the intriguing and beautiful Lamborghini Huracan, in the German magazine Autobild. Although the initial reports claimed the new Lambo is going to be called Cabrera, the official name of the new supercar is going to be “Huracan”, that even sounds better in my opinion.
It will also come with the LP610-4 “badge” which says a lot about the car’s massive power output. The Lamborghini Huracan will hide under the hood a 5.2L V10 engine which is able to produce 610 HP at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Since the car’s weight is just around 1,400 kg, this leads to a breathtaking acceleration, with a 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of just 3.2 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds.
That’s quite a lot faster than the Gallardo and what’s even better is that this supercar will also have a decent fuel consumption. It’s not great for an everyday car, but it’s awesome for a supercar with just 12.5 liters per 100 km average. The Huracan will also come with a sequential dual clutch transmission and an all wheel drive system.
Since it’s so light, you realize that the car’s body was made using only the lightest materials, such as carbon fiber and aluminum. Lamborghini also announced that the new Lambo will come with several driving modes, ranging from “civilized” to “track” mode, called Strada, Sport and Corsa.
The car will also feature carbon ceramic brakes, LED lights and electromagnetic dampers and inside, it’s all going to be high tech combined with luxury. A 12.3″ TFT display, comfortable bucket seats, fine leather trim and so on. Pricing and availability will be announced later but, judging from these photos, I think we can already say the Huracan is going to be a huge success.
