This beautiful Katameya Heights Residence is located, as its name states, in Katameya Heights, in Cairo, Egypt, and it’s the work of the local architecture firm Archiplan, led by Professor Mohamed El Adly. The architects wanted to create a magnificent residence that would stand out amongst its nearby homes and the finishing result is absolutely unique and lovely.
The basic design of the home received several details and accents and a neutral grey tone that slightly alters the colours of the home giving it a more contemporary feel and mood. Several other elements add to the modern feel such as a shift from brick complements to wooden strips and linear accents, slate tiles covering portions of the facade and new window dressings.
The ourdoor area of the house is connected to the interior through large floor to ceiling windows through which guests could enjoy the beautiful surroundings everyday. The pool of this residence was designed in a linear fashion and borders the house with stepping stones that provide a Zen feeling together with a relaxing pergola.
Inside, the staircase is probably the most impressive element in the interior design offering a beautiful and interesting twist to what would otherwise be a standard dull structure. The high tech kitchen kept within a style of sleek simplicity is another important design aspect of the home with appliances concealed behind clean lines and flushed cabinets.
This home is probably one the most amazing properties from Egypt, a country well known for their culture and architecture where it’s pretty hard to stand out. I’d better start looking for cheap flights to Egypt because I’m starting to like this country more and more with every new attraction I discover from Egypt.
The Katameya Heights Residence went from ordinary to extraordinary in just a couple of months thanks to the Alchemy Design Studio and it’s now definitely an attraction of the area where it’s located.
