The collaboration between Jaquet Droz and artist Stéphanie Barba, inspired by the Béjart Ballet of Lausanne, has yielded a couple of exquisite timepieces, named The Vulture and The Chief.
Firstly, The Vulture comes in an 18-carat while gold case measuring 3mm in diameter, with double sapphire crystals, set with 248 diamonds, and has the words Béjart Ballet Lausanne hand-engraved on the caseback ring. The timepiece, which is water resistant to 30 meters, is powered by a Swiss automatic Jaquet Droz in-house caliber 2653 with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph, and a power reserve of 68 hours. The eye-catching dial is ivory Grand Feu enamel with painting in miniature while the hands are blued steel. Even the strap is really impressive: it is a beautiful rolled-edge hand-made dark blue alligator leather strap with an 18-carat white gold ardillon buckle set with 24 diamonds.
Then there’s The Chief, splendid as well, but a bit different in appearance. The 39mm case is made from 18-carat red gold, while the 18-carat red holds move across a similar ivory Grand Feu enamel dial. Both timepieces share the same Swiss automatic Jaquet Droz in-house caliber 2653 and the same Béjart Ballet Lausanne is hand-engraved on the caseback ring as well. Finally, the watch comes on a rolled-edge hand-made brown alligator leather strap with an 18-carat red gold ardillon buckle.
Jaquet Droz is releasing both The Vulture and The Chief as limited editions of 28 timepieces each.
