Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz has finally released the Grande Seconde Tourbillon Aventurine timepiece previewed during this year’s Baselworld.
The limited edition watch features a dial and oscillating weight cut from a disc of blue aventurine which is adorned with mineral glitter, creating an image reminiscent of the starry night sky. This exquisite dial is housed in a 39mm white gold case and is covered with glittering diamonds on the bezel and lugs, as well as around the contours of the figure-eight-shaped subdials – in total, there are no fewer than 382 brilliant-cut diamonds on the watch. There’s also a custom made piece of aventurine set into the 18-carat white gold oscillating weight.
The self-winding mechanism has enough power reserve for seven days.
The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Tourbillon Aventurine watch will be released as a 28-piece limited edition series. The price for one of these exquisite timepiece is yet to be announced.
