One of the first superyachts launched in 2015 is the stunning 40-meter Galatea.

Created by acclaimed Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts as part of its 4000 series, the vessel features interior and exterior designs by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, while her naval is the result of a collaboration between Heesen and Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

Galatea’s eight meter beam means there was more than enough space for the designers to play with, with really impressive results. The use fine woods, including Macassar ebony, stained sycamore and dark walnut, creates a warm and elegant atmosphere, while the large windows allow an abundance of natural light inside, further contributing to the airy, relaxing vibe. Guests can stay in one of the yacht’s five lavish cabins, which feature premium furnishings and en suite marble bathrooms.

The outside is just as alluring as the inside, as Galatea has a total of three separate outdoor spaces, for a total of over 900 square-feet. These areas provide the ideal setting for socializing or sunbathing – and the best part is, the owners and their guests can do this while enjoying the peace and quiet of the ocean even while on the move, thanks to the vessel’s state-of-the-art design which minimizes sound and vibration.

Heesen’s Galatea superyacht is currently for sale with Campers & Nicholsons and has a list price of €19.5 million (about $23 million).
