You thought you’ve seen madness and opulence so far? We’ve got something in store for you that will surely raise you hairs up. Stunningly, a unique Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet, featuring 20 kg of gold plating, is currently on sale, by a Russian car dealer.
Denis Simachev is the owner of the gold plated Porsche, an artist well known throughout Russia. The car reportedly used to worth a staggering €330,000. Once supposedly having been stolen by a prospective buyer, this car has a quite intriguing history. Its keys have been given by the owner to a man, for a test drive, but the car was quickly taken away.
Fortunately, the vehicle had been recovered after a short while, while the owner has now decided to put it to sale. The set of interior mats obviously copies the car’s exterior. Reportedly fitted with Brembo brake system, Techart wheels and aftermarket Gemballa exhaust system, the car has so far run for 58,535 km.
Currently listed on Konigmotors website for 1.8 million Russian rubles, the price is interestingly similar to €46,300. This is probably because the dealer describes the car’s exterior to be consisting of gold leaf. A mystery for us, the car looks quite nice.
