After all these eulogies we brought to the world of tourism, we need to sort them all in some sort of top, just to know who’s who. Thing is we were assisted by the 2012 World Travel Awards ceremony, which had been held during the 11th of January in Qatar. We invite you to check them all out and take a glimpse into the beautiful and relaxing world of traveling.
The first prize we’ll announce is for the World’s Leading Destination – the jury nominated the “Incredible” India as the one, outmatching hard competition, like New York, Sidney, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, London and many more.
The Etihad Airways were designated the World’s Leading Airline, being put in front of other renowned flight-masters like Qatar Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Singapore Airlines or British Airways.
Now, one that interests us most – the World’s Best New Hotel: this is the title that has been awarded to the Jumeirah in Abu Dhabi. It has stolen the award from world-renowned competitors – Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong, W Hotel in London or Mandarin Oriental Paris.
Another highly-featured prize was the World’s Best Ski Resort. Awarded to Gstaad Palace in the beautiful Switzerland, it will surely have its effect among winter-sports enthusiasts. The award for the Most Romantic Resort in the World was given to the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa in Antigua.
There is an award for even the World’s Leading Spa Resort and it was presented to Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai. Plus, a more odd addition to this collection of prizes is the World’s Leading Theme Resort – the Universal Orlando is the newly-named owner of it.
Among other awards given on this occasion, we need to mention the World’s Leading Cruise Line – Royal Caribbean, World’s Leading Low-Cost Airline – easyJet, World’s Leading Luxury Train – The Blue Train and the World’s Most Innovative Airline – presented to Korean Air.
All these prizes were awarded after intensive research done by travel agents worldwide, during a one-year period.
