To be honest with you, when I first saw this piece I was genuinely stunned. One of the so-appointed “Bentley Boys”, Woolf Barnato was the heir to a diamond and gold mining fortune. Designated “The Most Interesting Man in the World”, his entire life was truly a legend. Having lived as a horse breeder, business man, boxer, officer in the British Army and a lot more titles, his name was introduced within the Breitling for Bentley collection of timepieces.
This particular collection invokes the racing heritage and a great deal of appreciation towards those that put together car racing. For example, one of the most staggering and rarest timepieces in the collection is the Breitling for Bentley Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon Chronograph – a masterpiece of design and engineering.
Covered in carbon steel, this watch is brilliant. It features chromed steel rimmed counters on the dial face, plus red accents which contrast with the elegant black background. The bezel features an intricate finish pattern, a reminder of Bentley’s one off front grilles. The wristwatch is fully self winding and will only be produced in 1,000 pieces for worldwide purchase.
