Paillonné Enameled Watches

Jaquet Droz has made a habit from delivering stunning decorative objects to the world, and now the Swiss watchmaker has just released a new series of Paillonné Enameled watches that allow people to admire their incredible work and creativity one more time.

This special technique of paillonné enameling involves positioning ultra-thin sheets of gold one by one, resulting in geometric patterns on the colored enamel base, a technique that the company’s founder, Pierre Jaquet-Droz, did by hand almost three centuries ago. The master craftsmen at Jaquet Droz keept this amazing technique alive, with a limited edition collection of watches and fresh designs.

First, well mention the Grande Seconde, which comes in blue, violet and anthracite gray, showing off 18 carat red gold 43 mm cases. This watch is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement Jaquet Droz 2663.P, offering a 68-hour power reserve, and providing motion and a touch of exclusivity to the only 8 pieces that will be released.

Next, the Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute 39 mm Paillonné will be available in violet, blue and grey, featuring a 39 mm red gold case that contains the Jaquet Droz 2653.P self-winding mechanical movement, with this watch also limited to 8 pieces.

The new collection also includes the Jaquet Droz Pocket Watch Paillonné, available in vivid red and blue, with red gold cases held on a gold chain. The 50 mm case houses the hand-wound mechanical movement Jaquet Droz 2615, with a 40 hour power reserve. You might be interested to know that each color is available in 8 units, as well.

We should also mention the Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute 35 mm Paillonné, a special edition that will be only available in blue, featuring the Jaquet Droz 2653.P self-winding mechanical movement.

Last, but not least, the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Tourbillon Paillonné brags about a 7 day power reserve, with a 43 mm case home to the Jaquet Droz 25JD movement; and, yes, only 8 units of this watch will be available for purchase as well. The question is: which one is to your liking?
