One of Arnold & Son’s latest, 2013 releases is the fantastically elegant HM Perpetual Moon timepiece, a gadget boasting extraordinary mechanics and very attractive looks.

The moon phase display for example is three-dimensional and superbly detailed in silver, also being fitted with one of the largest moons on the market, measuring 11.2 millimeters. Arnold & Son reports state that the moon is hand-engraved and then duplicated to go into series production, while the rest of the dial is garnished with a black guilloché finish.

The 1764-founded brand from Chaux-de-Fonds also describes the manufacture as “the most accurate moon phases on the market, with only one day’s deviation every 122 years – at which point a single push on the corrector will keep it in sync for another 122 years.” In addition, the timepiece also boasts a secondary moon indication installed behind the movement, visible through a transparent caseback. The second moon indicator sports a graduated dial and a pointer hand which allows for a more precise setting. The hand-wound calibre also includes two barrels that ensure 80 hours of power reserve. As for the looks of it, it comes with bridges with polished edges, chamfered by hand, circular graining and a series of gorgeous blue screws.

The stainless steel case of the HM Perpetual Moon measures 42 mm in diameter, but the watch will be available in rose gold as well. There are two dial versions as well: blue guilloché dial in stylized sunray pattern and blue guilloché moon disc or a cream-colored dial with blue guilloché moon disc. Stay tuned for the pricing. We’ll publish that at a later date.
