The renowned Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has become the proud owner of one of the most beautiful and expensive private islands in the whole world, the island of Skorpios from Greece.  According to a couple of reports from the European press, the designer faced solid competition from rival bidders including Bill Gates, Roman Abramovich and Madonna!

The Skorpios Island is located on the western coast of Greece in the Ionian Sea and it was previously owned by famous Greek shipping billionaire Aristotle Onassis. The island was sold to Armani by Onassis’ grand daughter and heriress, Athina Onassis Roussel for about $190 million!

In this beautiful private island Jackie Kennedy got married in 1968 and for this occasion Onassis built a lavish villa known as the Pink House that’s still there at the moment. The staggering villa has tennis courts, plush gardens and a wonderful design but the true value of this island is given by the beautiful landscapes.
