If this is just the first time you’ve heard of British sports car manufacturer Ultima Sports don’t worry, you’re probably not alone. Their cars are very, very fast and the Ultima GT-R or the Can Am model might sound a little familiar for some of you.
They’re now replacing these models with something even faster, called Ultima Evolution and available both as a coupe and convertible. With an aggressive design inspired from the Le Mans Group-C cars, the new models are vastly improved and modernized compared to their predecessors.
The Evolution will be powered by a supercharged Chevy LS V8 engine that will be offered with 15 different power tunes, ranging from 350 bhp and going all the way up to 1,020 bhp. That’s Bugatti Veyron territory right there at just a tenth of the cash.
Since these supercars are ultra light, tipping the scales at just 950 kg or 2,094 lbs, the range topping Ultima Evolution, with 1,020 bhp and 1,246 Nm of torque, could go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds! It will do 0-100 mph in 4.9 seconds, 0-150 mph in just 8.9 seconds and it will be able to reach a hair rising top speed of more than 240 mph (386 km/h).
The Ultima Evolution will also come with a lot o comfort features available in any regular car, like LED headlights and tail lights, air conditioning, an entertainment system with sat-nav from Alpine, leather & Alcantara upholstery, a rearview camera, parking sensors and even a start button. The ride quality is ensured by a fully adjustable suspension and 18″ alloy wheels wrapped in high performance Michelin PS2 tires.
The price for the range topper Evolution is just £95,995 which is not too much if you think how powerful this car really is. As we’ve said earlier, it’s more powerful than a Bugatti Veyron, weighs half as much and it costs a tenth of the price you’d pay for a Bugatti. Not too shabby!
