The reputable Warren Buffett, third richest man in the world and second in the US, owned this beachfront residence in Laguna Beach until some years ago. It now has been put to sale by its present owner. This extravagant residence with its beautiful location make out a spot where one can bask in luxury and opulence. The privacy of this estate is set on “high-mode”.
The outside and inside are separated by a covered porch. This 1955-built house’s tall windows offer great views over the surrounding landscapes and a carefully-crafted round staircase gets one access to the second and third floor. The total living space measures about 3,103 sq feet, with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
The amenities list is pretty generous, while the Emerald Bay neighborhood offers entertainment and relaxation: 3 beach volleyball courts, 6 championship tennis courts, a community center that includes a spa. Great atmosphere is provided by the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a great view over the clear blue waters of the ocean, while balconies and patios allow one to sit down and relax under the warm sun and calm breeze.
Formerly used by Buffett’s family for holiday get-togethers, recreation and private get-aways, the investor magnate initially bought the residence for $1,050,000 in 1996. He later sold it for $5,450,000 in 2005, after the decease of his first wife, Susan Thompson Buffett.
The actual owner has tried to sell the house for $6,495,000 in March 2009, but had no success. The price was lowered at the moment to $4,995,000, adding the Buffett name to its presentation, in hope of better success.
