BMW has recently launched in the UK the M3 and M5 Performance editions, two cars that received a couple of upgrades that make them a bit better than the standard models.
The first of the two, the BMW M3 Performance Edition, bears the stock 420 HP V8 engine, tied to a 7-speed M DCT transmission and a variable M differential. BMW has accustomed us with the Competition Package, launched a few years ago, and have included it into this model as well. It sports a revised DSC+ system, a 10-mm lowered suspension and Electronic Damper Control.
The BMW M5 Performance Edition on the other hand, comes with the same stock V8 TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers a whopping 560 HP. The specialists at BMW have also equipped it with an Active M differential and Electronic Damper Control.
Both the cars are currently available with three different paintjobs, among which we can find a matte wrap. Concerning the M5’s interior, they’ve decked it with Full Black Merino leather, while the M3 has been adorned with Black Novillo leather upholstery. In addition, Alcantara-covered steering wheels add to their exquisitenesses, various M logos have been seldomly placed and state of the art Piano Black interior trim pieces have also been added.
As for their pricing, they’re quite mind-blowing. The cheaper BMW M3 Performance Edition is available at £74,080 OTR, including the £9,790 worth of equipment, while the more opulent BMW M5 Performance Edition will draw a staggering £95,140 OTR out of any future owner’s pockets, the £22,075 extra cost of the additional features also being featured in its total price.
