There were some unconfirmed rumors heard recently that the new Bentley Continental GT Speed will be revealed on the occasion of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012. And so it seems to be, as Bentley has confirmed the rumor.
Officials at Bentley say that the new Continental GT Speed is the fastest production model they’ve ever conceived, as the car delivers 616 HP (460 kW) at 6000 RPM and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The specialists from Bentley have made it possible thanks to the 6.0-liter 48-valve 4-cam twin-turbocharged W12 engine.
The transmission relies on a revised ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. Courtesy of those stated above, the Continental GT Speed reaches a top speed of 329 km/h (205 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 4.2 seconds.
Some of the additional features the model has been decked with are the 21-inch Speed Wheels, Speed grille and exhaust pipes, Mulliner Driving Specification interior and an improved, lowered suspension. The model is already available for order, deliveries being due to start in October 2012. The price tag hasn’t yet been mentioned.
