Métiers D’Art is a splendid collection by prestigious Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin, with lots of impressive pieces, each deserving attention. For now, we’ve decided to showcase four models that are sort of a ‘collection within a collection’, namely the four Fabuleux Ornements timepieces, designed to grace the wrists of the most elegant ladies.

Sometimes seeing the inner workings of something takes some of the magic away, but this is certainly not the case here. The four watches we are talking about feature the 18k gold openworked Calibre 1003 movement, and it is undoubtedly a wonderful sight. In addition to this, the 10 different master artisans who got to work on these pieces have also added guillochage, grand feu and champlevé enamelling and gem-setting to the crafts employed in the collection’s creation.

Each Fabuleux Ornements timepiece was created with a different theme in mind: Ottoman architecture, Chinese embroidery, Indian manuscripts and French lacework. And which each set limited to 20 pieces, each piece is as exclusive as it is exquisite.
