Newly-unveiled, the Jade First Collection is one staggering package of timepieces designed exclusively for women by the experienced hands at Ulysse Nardin. The Swiss watchmaker comes with some very interesting history related to this limited edition series – Chai Schnyder, the Chairwoman of Ulysse Nardin, had requested around 11 years ago from her late husband, Rolf Schnyder (then CEO of Ulysse Nardin and President) a particular Jade Ladies’ Watch. Well, it’s now here!
What we have here is the first in-house designed and manufactured self-winding caliber for women’s watches, paying tribute to the mild-sex clientele who pays attention to watchmaking innovation. The so-called Caliber UN-310 sports a pusher at the 4 o’clock position on the case of the watch which takes the function of the crown. Any eventual manipulations are then done by turning the crown forwards or backwards with no need of pulling it out as you do on regular watches.
So, the Jade Ladies Watch boasts with 41 jewels, a mechanical self-winding movement, 413 diamonds, 18-carat rose gold or white gold case, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, 30 meters water resistance and a 48-hour power reserve. In terms of models and designs, the top of the series sports four exquisite green jade horns flanking the bezel, snow-like setting and a fantastically beautiful ring of diamonds and emeralds around the dial. As for the dial, it itself is quite a gorgeous piece of timekeeping manufacture – mother-of-pearl garnished with diamonds.
