The year 2015 sees Breguet launching the latest addition to its acclaimed Tradition collection, a remarkable timepiece called the Tradition Automatique Seconde Rétrograde 7097.

Among its multiple exquisitely crafted mechanisms, the standout is probably the retrograde seconds hand at 10 o’clock, which complements the hours and minutes shown by Breguet-style open-tipped hands in blued steel. It also gives the timepiece its name, and is highlighted with the help of a circular-brushed semi-circle that also makes the other indications easy to read. In order to maintain a sense of symmetry, the pare-chute is located at 4 o’clock.

The Tradition Automatique Seconde Rétrograde 7097 comes with an 18-carat white or rose gold case, measuring 40mm in diameter, with double sapphire crystals, a finely fluted caseband, and welded lugs with screw bars. Furthermore, it is water resistant to 30 meters. Movement is the Swiss automatic Breguet in-house caliber 505SR1 with 38 jewels, beating at 21,600 vph, and with a power reserve of 50 hours. The eye-catching dial is 18-carat gold, silvered and engine-turned by hand, off-centered at 12 o’clock, while the strap is black leather, with a matching gold deployant.
