After a couple of interesting teasers that probably got every single one of us thinking and daydreaming about the next hypercar, Aston Martin and Red Bull racing have finally taken the wraps off the AM-RB 001 and… it’s a total stunner!
Although the full technical specs haven’t been revealed yet, Aston Martin and RBR have ensured us that their ravishing hypercar will be one of the most exciting vehicles we’ve ever seen, featuring a naturally aspirated V12 engine hidden under the hood, that will deliver a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, so you do the math.
The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 was meant to be totally enjoyable on the road, but also capable of blowing your mind on a race track. And if you were looking for something even more extreme, don’t worry; apparently a track-only AM-RB 001 is also in the works and it’s set to be as fast as a LMP1 Le Mans sports prototype.
The development process of this beauty benefited from Red Bull Racing’s chief technical officer Adrian Newey, Aston Martin’ EVP & chief creative officer Marek Reichman and David King. This awesome collaboration led to the unique and stylish aerodynamics before you, and a supposedly new level of down-force for a road legal car.
The AM-RB 001 features a carbon fiber structure, with underfloor aerodynamics, as well as an innovative suspension system. The latter, along with the transmission, were designed by Newey and developed by Red Bull Advanced Technologies. This means we’re dealing with a super fast, yet extremely well balanced and comfortable supercar.
Red Bull Advanced Technologies and the combined skill and experience of the engineers and designers from Aston Martin, especially in the coming up with beautiful, fast and comfortable GT cars, means that the AM-RB 001 blends the best of two worlds, luxury and speed.
According to Aston Martin president & CEO Dr Andy Palmer, we should expect a history-making hypercar; but, since the project hasn’t been finalized yet, we can only look forward for the 99 to 150 AM-RB 001 units, including all remaining prototypes and the 25 track-only versions.
